ThaiSim Conference Proceedings
General considerations

This is a collection of papers delivered, and accounts of sessions run, at the annual ThaiSim conference.

Share.  By sharing your work, you will contribute to the development of simulation/gaming worldwide and of own skills and expertise.

Conference.  In order to have a paper appear in the proceedings, you must first get your conference proposal (abstract) accepted so that you can do a session at the conference.  You cannot submit a paper for the proceedings if you do not present at the conference.  To do your conference proposal, please see the general conference page and the pages about the specific conference - click on the link in red on the left.

Submission.  After your conference proposal has been accepted, you may submit your full paper to appear in the proceedings.  You must do a session at the conference in order submit a written paper.

Deadlines.  Consult the appropriate page in this web site to know the deadlines for submitting your full paper.  If you miss a deadline, then your paper will not be accepted.

Guide.  To write your paper, you will need to follow the Author Guide for ThaiSim Proceedings.  This is a pdf file, so right click and save to your hard drive.

Reviewer.  If you submit a paper for publication in the proceedings, you automatically undertake to do one or two peer reviews of papers submitted by other contributors - if you are so asked.  You may be asked, you may not be asked.  If you are asked, then it is your responsibility to do a proper review within the deadline given.  The delay for doing your review will necessarily be short.  You will use the review criteria here.

Review criteria.  As author you need to look carefully at the review criteria -- they will help you as you write.  As  reviewer, you will use these criteria do do your review.

bulletlook carefully at the review criteria;
bulletconsult the Proceedings page on this web site.

Preliminary criteria for submission:  To be considered for inclusion in the ThaiSim 2011 Proceedings:

bulletYour paper must be directly related to the subject matter of concern to ThaiSim, that is, the fields of simulation, gaming, role-play, serious games, experiential methods and debriefing for teaching, learning, development and assessment.
 
bulletYou must have presented your paper at the relevant conference.  If your abstract found its way into the Programme Book, but you did not actually do your session, then you cannot submit a paper to the proceedings.
 
bulletYou must do your paper exactly according to the Author Guide for Proceedings Authors.
 
bulletYou must thoroughly check your paper before submission for language, style, grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc - whether this be in Thai or in English.  Incorrect language will disqualify your article, irrespective of its contents.
 
bulletYou automatically accept to be a peer reviewer for one or two other papers submitted to the proceedings.
