Arrival = Wed 18 April, 2012

The conference venue is a good two-hour ride from Bangkok airport (Survanabhumi) and 2h30 from Bangkok.  During rush hour, add at least another hour to those journeys.

Regular vans go from the airport.  However, ThaiSim will arrange for a private and inexpensive van or bus to leave downtown and Survanabhumi during 17 and 18 April, 2012, the day before the conference starts.  One van or bus will leave late morning, and another in the late afternoon, depending on when delegates arrive.  The cost will be THB 300 (maybe less).

It is essential to let the conference organizers know about your exact travel plans, including exact date of arrival, place of arrival, airline, flight number, local arrival time (using 24h clock).  Also provide, if possible a local telephone number.  Send this information as soon as you know it, to:

Departure = Sat 21 April, 2012.

A conference van will return to Bangkok and the airport during the afternoon at the end of the conference.

On your arrival at the airport, the conference receptionist with a  ThaiSim 2012  sign board will wait for participants at the meeting point near gate 3 on 17-19 April 2012.  Everyday??  Times??  The receptionist will help you change currency, buy a cell phone card and wait with you for your public (shared) transportation to the conference hotel, which will depart at scheduled times.

For shared transportation (van or bus), the fare is 570 Baht per person per trip for shared transportation.

With private transportation (taxi), you do not need to wait for scheduled time.  The rate is 4,200 Baht per trip at any time you want.

For departure from the conference, airport transfer is provided at the above fares and conditions.  Departure times from hotel for shared transport are scheduled on 21-23 April 2012.

It is essential to send your arrival and departure details at least 3 days before your arrival (local Thailand time); send departure city, airline, flight number, arrival date and time.  Also indicate other details, such as whether you will do a 'visa on arrival', be with an accompanying person (give their full name), etc.

Notes:

1. For other arrival and departure dates, please make your own bookings (no ThaiSim receptionist at the airport).  We recommend then that you use the private transportation.

2. Participants arriving without making prior booking may get seat on shared transportation, but only if one is available.  The receptionist will determine this on your arrival.

3. Cancellation should be made as early as possible.
